Lantern have teamed up with local charity World Appeal to raise funds for Human Appeal to “Stop Winter Killing Around the World”
Sister Sadia in the picture above is only 18 years old. This is the horrifying impact of war and famine in Yemen. Our sister is not alone. Conflict has left many struggling to survive. Millions of homes have been destroyed worldwide, including in Syria, Yemen and Burma. Displaced refugee families are forced to live in thin nylon tents and makeshift shelters. Strong winds, icy rain and snow can easily creep inside, putting vulnerable children, pregnant women and the elderly at risk of sickness and even death. Across the world, children are dying of preventable illnesses and malnourishment.
